“I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that under no circumstances will we participate in the protests or riots of various poorly-managed Democrat cities, unless we are asked for help<\/strong>“, he announced on the social network Truth.<\/p>\n\n\nThe president, therefore, leaves in the hands of state and local governments the responsibility of ensuring security during the protests and responding to possible disturbances.\n\nHe added, however, that federal agents will protect “with great firmness, all federal buildings that are being attacked by these lunatics, agitators, and paid insurrectionists.”\n\n“Spitting in the face of our officers will not be allowed, punching or kicking the headlights of our vehicles will not be allowed, nor will throwing stones or bricks at our vehicles or our Patriotic Warriors. If this happens, those people will suffer equal or greater consequences”<\/strong>, he warned.\n\nThe Trump administration launched last December the so-called ‘Metro Surge’ operation, a set of operations to arrest undocumented migrants in Minnesota, a state governed by Democrats.\n\nThe aggressive raids have been rejected by local authorities and thousands of protesters, who have been protesting for the past few weeks to demand the departure of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from the state.\n\nDuring the protests, immigration agents shot and killed two protesters, Ren\u00e9e Good and Alex Pretti, both 37 years old and of American nationality, which has generated outrage throughout the country.\n\nFaced with growing tension, Trump this week relieved operational command and sent his border czar, Tom Homan, to the area in search of a “de-escalation,” although he has promised that the raids will continue.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
