\u201cThe National Youth Award has allowed us to recognize the talents of our youth. Today, many of those young people are in charge of leading the country, from politics, business, and art, contributing to the development of a better Dominican Republic,\u201d<\/strong> said the official.<\/p>\n\n\nThe minister explained that in this edition, 15 lines are recognized, whose awardees represent the future of the country in the next five and ten years, while defining the award as the highest recognition of Dominican youth talent.\n\nWhen asked about the message to a youth facing difficult times and sometimes feeling disoriented, Valdez assured that there are multiple opportunities driven by the State, citing programs such as STEM Generation Scholarships, with 8,000 places; Tu Futuro Scholarship, from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), with 15,000 opportunities; and the bill \u201cMy First Opportunity\u201d<\/strong>, which will allow young people to do internships through the Ministry of Youth.\n\nHe also mentioned initiatives such as “A Court for my Neighborhood”, which will impact 200 prioritized sectors, and the Youth Card, in its final stage, aimed at preventing more than 10,000 students from dropping out of university due to economic limitations.\n\n\n

“There are always opportunities. Young people should be rebellious with purpose, as Duarte, S\u00e1nchez, and Mella were, and use that drive to build a better Dominican Republic,” he stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nValdez also highlighted that more than 1,600 young people applied for the National Youth Award, which shows that there is a committed youth working positively for the country.\n\nThe thirtieth edition of the National Youth Award will be attended by President Luis Abinader and will recognize outstanding young people in different areas of national life.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
