SANTO DOMINGO.\u2013<\/strong> The Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedom)<\/strong> announced this Monday the incorporation of right-handed pitchers Albert Abreu, Edwin Uceta and Huascar Brazob\u00e1n<\/strong> to the selection that will represent the Dominican Republic<\/strong> in the 2026 World Baseball Classic<\/strong>, an event that will be held from March 5 to 17<\/strong> in venues in the United States, Japan and Puerto Rico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\nThe call-up of Albert Abreu<\/strong> adds power and depth to the Dominican bullpen. The right-hander, known for his strong arm and experience in high-pressure situations in the Major Leagues, is shaping up to be a key piece within the relief corps in a short-format, high-demand tournament. This will be the first time<\/strong> that Abreu will wear the Dominican jersey in a World Baseball Classic.\n\nAlso confirmed was Edwin Uceta<\/strong>, pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays<\/strong>, who brings youth, control, and solidity to the pitching staff. Uceta has a 12-6 record, 3.70 ERA, and 201 strikeouts<\/strong> in his professional career.
