{"id":499520,"date":"2026-02-06T15:21:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T19:21:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/in-five-years-foreign-investment-in-the-dominican-republic-grew-by-96-6\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T15:21:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T19:21:28","slug":"in-five-years-foreign-investment-in-the-dominican-republic-grew-by-96-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/in-five-years-foreign-investment-in-the-dominican-republic-grew-by-96-6\/","title":{"rendered":"In five years, foreign investment in the Dominican Republic grew by 96.6%."},"content":{"rendered":"In the five years of President Luis Abinader&#8217;s administration, foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Dominican Republic managed to consolidate, increasing from US$2,559.6 million in 2020 to US$5,032.3 million in 2025, for an increase of 96.6%, a result of economic and political stability, as well as the legal security experienced by the country.\n\nFigures from the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) establish that FDI at the end of 2020 stood at around US$2,559.6 million and for 2021 it rose to US$3,196.8 million, for a recovery of 24.9%, with investments in the tourism, real estate and mining sectors.\n\nWhen comparing the behavior of 2021 with 2022, an increase of US$902 million was recorded, and foreign direct investment was placed at US$4,098.8 million, equivalent to 28.2%, due to the confidence of investors in the Dominican Republic. From 2022 to 2023, the growth percentage was 7.16%.\n\nBetween the years 2023 and 2024, the numbers continued to show improvement and increased from US$4,390.2 to US$4,523.2, for a growth of 3.2%.\n\nForeign direct investment (FDI) reached US$5,032.3 million at the end of 2025, increasing US$509.1 million (11.3%) compared to the year 2024, as a result of the attractive investment climate that the country has for entrepreneurs from various nations.\n\nIn total, from 2020 to 2025, FDI increased in the country by US$2,472.7 million, which has impacted the recovery of the Dominican economy and has allowed the creation of thousands of new jobs.\n\nPositive results were obtained thanks to the investors&#8217; confidence in the management given by President Abinader to the Dominican economy, who has generated a significant climate of confidence for business.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-06-at-3.12.59-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-606472\" style=\"width:1032px;height:auto\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the five years of President Luis Abinader&#8217;s administration, foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Dominican Republic managed to consolidate, increasing from US$2,559.6 million in 2020 to US$5,032.3 million in 2025, for an increase of 96.6%, a result of economic and political stability, as well as the legal security experienced by the country.
