When asked if an agreement with the Iranian Government would be successful, Trump replied: “I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know.\u00a0What I know is one thing: they want to reach an agreement.<\/strong>\u00a0They wouldn’t talk to anyone else, but they would with me. But, well, it’s a good question. Many people say no”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the demonstrations ceased, Washington maintained the pressure, directing its argument<\/a> towards Tehran’s nuclear and missile programs.\n\n\n

On Friday, the first day<\/a> of indirect contacts between the US and Iran on the nuclear issue took place in Muscat, Oman. The consultations were held separately, with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and the White House special envoy, Steve Witkoff, meeting in turns with the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who acted as a mediator.<\/p>\n\n\nAfter the meeting, Trump asserted that “Iran seems very interested in reaching an agreement.” For his part, Araghchi also described<\/a> the atmosphere as “positive” and confirmed the willingness to keep the channel of dialogue open<\/strong>.
