Pueblo Viejo, Azua.\u2013<\/strong> The community of Pueblo Viejo<\/strong> enthusiastically welcomed the archaeological project that seeks to locate the remains of the cacique Enriquillo,<\/strong> considering it a historic opportunity for the cultural, tourist, and economic development of the province of Azua and the Southern region.<\/p>\n\n\nResidents, entrepreneurs, historians, cultural managers, and local authorities agree that the enhancement of the ruins of the church Las Mercedes<\/strong> could turn the area into a reference for historical and religious tourism, with a direct impact on employment and the revitalization of the local economy.\n\n\n
