Bridgetown.-<\/strong> Bridgetown.- Barbados Labour Party (BLP) leader Mia Mottley was sworn in this Thursday as Prime Minister for her third consecutive term, following her resounding victory in the general elections.<\/p>\n\n\nIn her brief inauguration speech, 60-year-old Mottley emphasized her Government’s focus on fighting poverty, strengthening democratic institutions, and improving public services.\n\nHe also declared tomorrow, Friday, a national holiday and announced plans for a national celebration on Saturday to thank citizens for the trust shown in his party.\n\n\n

Third term of Mia Mottley in Barbados<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nIt is expected that your new Cabinet will take office on February 16th and that the first parliamentary session will take place on the 20th of this month.\n\nMottley, 60 years old, is the first female head of government in Barbados and has led the BLP to three consecutive and unprecedented victories.\n\nA lawyer by profession, Mottley has been a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Saint Michael North East since 1994, serving as Leader of the Opposition in the House on two occasions.\n\nIn 2018, leading the BLP, he won a historic victory in the general elections, securing all 30 seats in Parliament. This feat, never achieved by another party, has been repeated on two more occasions.\n\n\n
