He highlighted that Borro will be remembered for his vision of the sport as a tool for educational, social and cultural impact, as well as for his extensive knowledge of club basketball and his constant drive for innovative ideas for its development.\n\nIn the same vein, FIBA Americas CEO, <strong>Carlos Alves<\/strong>, lamented the loss of a passionate leader who dedicated his life to the growth of basketball and who knew how to combine tradition and innovation in each project he led, while also conveying condolences to his family and friends.\n\nBorro was widely recognized for his commitment to sports. His career gained notoriety when he assumed the presidency of the club <strong>Obras Sanitarias<\/strong> in the year 2000. Later he held management positions in the <strong>Basketball Federation of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires<\/strong>, the <strong>Association of Clubs<\/strong> \u2014the organizing entity of the <strong>Argentine National League<\/strong>\u2014 and the <strong>Argentine Women&#8217;s League<\/strong>, where he left a distinctive mark as a promoter of professionalism and institutional modernization.\n\nIn 2019, he was also appointed by FIBA as a founding council member of the <strong>BCL Americas<\/strong>.
