You may be interested in:<\/strong> Abinader inaugurates modern municipal market in Hig\u00fcey<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe president also led the delivery of three armored vehicles FURIA VBD-1<\/strong>, the first assembled by the Dominican Military Industry, which marks a milestone in the development of the national defense industrial capacity and strengthens the specialized units.\n\nAlso incorporated were 40 mm caliber automatic grenade launchers, light machine guns, carbines, high-precision rifles, and submachine guns for special operations units.\n\nAbinader highlighted that the country has advanced significantly in its military industry, going from five projects in 2020 to about 20 currently, and stated that the local assembly of equipment represents a source of national pride.\n\n\n

“We are delivering vehicles and equipment that put the Army in an unprecedented situation,” he affirmed, highlighting that the modernization strengthens sovereignty and security in the border area.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe president also revealed that progress is being made in the international commercialization of the equipment, including the FURIA armored vehicles, with interest from Latin American countries.\n\n\n

First phase of institutional strengthening<\/h3>\n\n\nThe Minister of Defense, Carlos Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez Onofre, explained that this delivery corresponds to the first phase of a progressive process of equipment incorporation in accordance with the institutional strengthening plan.\n\nAmong the technological innovations are autonomous reconnaissance drones for land and maritime monitoring, as well as anti-UAV systems to detect and inhibit unmanned aircraft that pose threats.\n\nThese tools strengthen the command, control, communications, cyber defense, and intelligence system, expanding territorial surveillance and control of airspace.\n\nIn addition, the Government delivered equipment to the Specialized Disaster Mitigation Corps (CEMED), including urban and forest fire trucks, as well as a search and rescue unit, in order to improve the response to fires, natural disasters and emergencies.\n\nFern\u00e1ndez Onofre emphasized that these incorporations respond to an integral strategy that combines defense, technology, and risk management, allowing to face contemporary threats and provide timely assistance to the population.\n\nThe delivery is part of the Dominican State modernization program to guarantee the safety, sovereignty, and protection of the lives and property of citizens.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
