Meanwhile, residents are working on cleaning their homes, covered in mud and water, with support from brigades of the <strong>Civil Defense and the Fire Department.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the municipal district of <strong>Arroyo al Medio<\/strong>, 48 communities are reported to be cut off. Affectations were also recorded in Las Gordas and Matancitas, where the front of the municipal hospital was flooded. However, in Nagua, no flooding occurred, according to the Fire Department, thanks to preventive cleaning work in rivers and streams.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial governor, <strong>Mar\u00eda L\u00f3pez Polanco<\/strong>, led a meeting with different institutions to assess the damage caused by the storm.<\/p>\n<p>The National Institute of Potable Water and Sewage (INAPA) reported that six aqueducts are out of service, including those of R\u00edo San Juan, Cabrera, Guayabitos, Nagua, El Factor and Los Limones, due to floods, turbidity and electrical failures.<\/p>\n<p>The province remains on red alert by order of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), which urges the population to remain vigilant and act with caution, despite the fact that in some areas the rivers have begun to recede.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez. \u2013 The rains recorded in the last few hours caused several rivers in the province to overflow, leaving at least 78 homes flooded in the community El Barro, El Factor municipality, where families reported the loss of household goods and significant damage.
