Santo Domingo,.- The Ministry of Public Health<\/strong>, through the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SINAVE), <\/strong>assured this Thursday that 20 cases of leptospirosis and 18 of malaria have been registered so far this year.<\/p>\n\n\nAccording to their most recent bulletin, in the last one a confirmed case of dengue was reported and the total accumulated amounts to 31 with no reports of deaths. Between epidemiological weeks SE-01 and SE-06 a stable behavior is observed, without reaching alert or epidemic zones for this disease.\n\n\n

Compared to the same period in 2025, when 227 were reported, a reduction of 30 deaths is observed.\n\nThe epidemiological bulletin for this week highlights as its main topic the commemoration of Rare Disease Day, celebrated every February 28th, with the aim of raising awareness about these pathologies that affect more than 300 million people worldwide.\n\nIn that sense, the Minister of Public Health, V\u00edctor Atallah, emphasized that rare diseases require a state perspective, since it is not only about clinical protocols; but also about guaranteeing rights.\n\nThe Ministry of Public Health stated that it has care protocols for many Rare Diseases, and the challenge of building a more equitable system is highlighted so that all families have support in the face of this type of diagnosis, which are rare.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
