While there is talk of growth and stability, food is more expensive and medicine has become inaccessible to thousands of households,” he maintained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe FA underlined that the presidential speech omitted the direct impact of the rising cost of the basic basket. “The minimum wage may have increased nominally, but the cost of food, transportation, services, and medicines has significantly reduced purchasing power, while warning that the statistical reduction in poverty should be analyzed with caution, as in many households economic stability is fragile and depends on temporary subsidies that do not solve the causes of inequality.\n\nThe political organization considered the democratization of public investment in works positive, (28% in the capital and Santiago and 72% in the rest of the country), but questioned the government’s presentation of the increase in consultations, surgeries and diagnostic studies as great achievements, without acknowledging the recurring complaints about lack of supplies, long waiting lists and deficiencies in primary care in the health system.\n\nHe also criticized the fact that effective access to medicines continues to be a structural problem, with high prices in private pharmacies and limitations in the coverage of specialized treatments.\n\n\n

There are still communities where the lack of classrooms, the physical deterioration of the schools, and the curricular offer limit the right to a decent education.”\n\n\n

Corruption and impunity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nRegarding the issue of corruption and impunity, it was pointed out that the Judiciary, designed by the dominant political system to guarantee impunity, continues to show signs of structural dysfunction, and the Government, despite the majority held by its party in Congress, has not promoted profound institutional reforms to overcome it.\n\n\n

\u201cNot all the dozens of corruption cases reported have had initiatives for prosecution and translation into justice,\u201d Cabrera indicated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn economic terms, the organization criticized that the so-called macroeconomic achievements confirm the continuity of an anti-national model, similar to that applied by previous governments, oriented to the service of international financial capital and the local oligarchy. In the FA’s opinion, this model mainly generates precarious jobs in sectors such as tourism and free zones, without structurally transforming the living conditions of the majority.\n\nRegarding investment announcements in the electricity sector, the Frente Amplio considered that, since its privatization, the electricity system has constituted a true dispossession for the State and the Dominican people.\n\n\n
