Santo Domingo Norte, RD<\/strong>.\u2013 The remains of the prominent Dominican folklore exponent Enerolisa N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong> are being watched over at her residence in Mata de los Indios, in Villa Mella,<\/strong> since this Saturday morning, after her death occurred at her home.<\/p>\n\n\nThe burial is scheduled for this Sunday, March 1st at 11:00 in the morning, <\/strong>from the community that saw her grow and where she consolidated her legacy as one of the main voices of the Dominican salve.\n\n\n

You may be interested in<\/strong>: Enerolisa N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Queen of the Salve and symbol of Dominican folklore, passes away<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nFamily members, friends, artists, cultural researchers, and members of various brotherhoods have begun to gather at the site to pay tribute to the one who was one of the most authentic bearers of this religious musical expression, deeply rooted in the national identity.\n\nN\u00fa\u00f1ez, born on January 19 in Villa Mella, dedicated her life to preserving and disseminating the salve, a tradition that intertwines popular devotion, ritual percussion, and African heritage. At the head of “Enerolisa N\u00fa\u00f1ez and her Grupo Salve\u201d and the \u201cGrupo Salve Mata de los Indios\u201d,<\/strong> she took her songs to national and international stages, consolidating herself as an undisputed reference in the genre.\n\nFor two years, she had been facing health complications after suffering a stroke (CVA). Despite this, she continued to participate in cultural activities, having been seen recently at an event held at Bellas Artes.\n\nVarious cultural figures have expressed their sorrow at the artist’s passing, highlighting her contribution to the preservation of Dominican intangible cultural heritage.
