So far, Iranian state media have not officially confirmed the death of the former president.<\/strong>\u00a0However, after the first wave of bombings (which would have also caused the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior officials) rumors and reports about the fate of Ahmadinejad began to circulate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe bombing would have been part of a joint air offensive <\/strong>against different targets in Tehran.\n\nReports indicate that, in addition to Ahmadinejad, at least three members of the Revolutionary Guards died in the attack. Sources speak of a direct impact on the building that left almost total destruction at the scene.\n\nIn the past, rumors about attacks or accidents linked to the former president<\/strong> had already circulated, which were later denied by Iranian authorities.<\/strong> This time, however, there has been no official statement so far to categorically confirm or deny the information released by foreign media.\n\n\n

Ahmadinejad<\/strong>, 69 years old, was one of the most controversial figures in recent Iranian politics.
