The Association of Savings and Credit Banks and Credit Corporations (Abancord) swore in its new board of directors for the period 2026\u20132028 during its Ordinary General Assembly, in which the strategic lines aimed at strengthening the stability, innovation, and good practices of the sector were defined.<\/p>\n
In the institutional process, Cristina De Castro was re-elected as executive president, who will assume the responsibility of reinforcing union representation and promoting the sustainable development of savings and credit banks in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n
The directive will be composed of Silvestre Aybar Mota, from Banco de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito Confisa, as first vice president, and Cristian Reyna Tejeda, from Banco de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito Banfondesa, as second vice president. Likewise, Mercedes Canalda de Beras-Goico, from Banco de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito Adopem, will hold the secretary position, while Benahuare Pichardo, from Motor Cr\u00e9dito, Banco de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito, will serve as assistant secretary.<\/p>\n
In the financial area of the guild, Deborah De Los Santos, from Banco BACC de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito del Caribe, was appointed treasurer, accompanied by Alan Mu\u00f1oz Mej\u00eda, from Banco de Ahorro y Cr\u00e9dito Fihogar, as vice-treasurer. Representatives from entities in the savings and credit subsector and credit corporations were appointed as vocal members. Jenniffer P\u00e9rez and Ismael Peralta will take on the role of auditors.<\/p>\n
The new board of directors announced that it will prioritize initiatives related to financial inclusion, support for SMEs, and the strengthening of the governance framework, in coordination with the regulatory authorities and the guilds of the Dominican financial system.
