United Nations.-<\/strong> UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres said on Wednesday that he is “concerned” about the lack of action by the Security Council in the face of the war in the Middle East unleashed after the bombings by the United States and Israel against Iran.<\/p>\n\n\nThis is how Guterres’ spokesman, St\u00e9phane Dujarric, explained it in his daily press conference, in which he pointed out that the Secretary-General continues to maintain contact with the ambassadors of the countries affected by the escalation in the Middle East, such as Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia.\n\n\u201cWe have been concerned for some time about the lack of unity in the Security Council when addressing a series of issues. I believe the Security Council has the primary responsibility for maintaining peace and security, and we encourage members to find common ground to that end,\u201d Dujarric declared.\n\nThe spokesperson was asked about the fact that the Security Council has only met once to address the conflict since it began.\n\n\n
