The Dominican peso has appreciated against the euro so far this year by 5.93% in the purchase at the window of financial institutions and 5.05% in the sale.<\/p>\n
While in the Remittance and Exchange Agents the appreciation in the purchase is 5.77%, and in the sale it has appreciated 3.99% so far this year.<\/p>\n
This calculation is obtained by taking as a reference the closing prices of the European currency at the end of the year and the current prices, set by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n
The price of the euro at the close of 2025 was RD$76.79 per one, and as of Thursday, March 5th, it stands at RD$73.11.<\/p>\n
The euro has been falling since the end of 2025, mainly due to the crises facing France and Germany, two of its strongest economies.<\/p>\n
In addition to this is the Iran-Israel conflict, causing a rise in the main stock markets of both Europe and the United States, the costs of freight to the Persian Gulf have multiplied by 12, and financial expectations have deteriorated.<\/p>\n
While in the Dominican Republic, foreign exchange flows remain upward, both due to gold exports, the entry of tourists, remittances, and Foreign Direct Investment, which explains why the Dominican peso holds steady against a falling euro.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
