His fundamental contribution was to strengthen the country’s democratic culture and promote a vision of development based on social inclusion, citizen participation, and respect for human dignity,” he stated.\n\nGarc\u00eda Ferm\u00edn also highlighted the international dimension of the Dominican political leader, who gained recognition in different arenas of social democratic thought and the defense of human rights.\n\nThe former rector of UASD affirmed that remembering the figure of Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez within the academy implies reflecting on the responsibility of educational institutions in the formation of citizens committed to democratic values.\n\n\n
