The event was captured in a video that later went viral on social media.\n\nThe young man went crying to the office of General Jes\u00fas Rafael Tejada Tejada, Regional Director Cibao Central of the National Police, accompanied by his mother, where he expressed remorse for his alleged participation in the criminal act that generated outrage among citizens, who repudiated the action considering it a sign of the insecurity affecting the population.\n\nThe young man’s mother, who was not identified, explained that she decided to turn him in to the authorities to prevent him from suffering reprisals on the street, while also stating that it is the first time her son has been involved in an event of that nature. Likewise, she asked the authorities to guarantee his rights during the process.\n\nEarlier this Tuesday, Cristofer Torres Ortiz, the other young man linked to the assault, had also surrendered, who was also presented before the high official. Torres Ortiz expressed remorse and alleged that he supposedly suffers from mental problems, also stating that he would have participated in the act induced by his companion.\n\n\n
