For this important duel, the South Korean team announced veteran pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu<\/strong> as the starter, who in his Major League career has already faced several Dominican players who are part of the powerful Dominican lineup.<\/p>\n\n\nAmong Dominican hitters with the best numbers against Ryu, Juan Soto<\/strong> stands out, batting .429<\/strong> against him, the product of three hits in eight at-bats<\/strong>, including a home run and two RBIs<\/strong>.\n\nFor his part, Ketel Marte<\/strong> has a .250 average, with five hits, one RBI and one walk<\/strong> against the Asian pitcher.\n\nVeteran Carlos Santana<\/strong> records .333 average<\/strong>, while young Junior Caminero<\/strong> has hit a single in five at-bats<\/strong>, for an average of .250<\/strong>.\n\nLikewise, Manny Machado<\/strong> has one hit in six at-bats<\/strong> (.200) with a walk, while Amed Rosario<\/strong> has three hits in 20 at-bats<\/strong>, with a batting average of .150<\/strong>.\n\nIn the case of Fernando Tatis Jr.<\/strong>, the star outfielder has yet to get a hit against Ryu, with three official at-bats and one strikeout<\/strong>.\n\nThe Dominican selection reaches this stage after a perfect 4-0 performance in Group D<\/strong>, where it surpassed Nicaragua, the Netherlands, Israel and Venezuela, thanks to an offense that scored 41 runs<\/strong>, one of the most productive in the tournament.\n\nFor its part, South Korea advanced to the quarterfinals as the second place in Group C<\/strong>, after finishing with a record of 2-2<\/strong>, achieving its classification through the tiebreaker criterion by run differential.\n\nThe winner of this matchup will advance to the semifinals of the tournament, in a clash that promises great intensity between two teams with a high level of competition in international baseball.\n\n\n
