After the impact, both men fled on foot.\n\nThe witness, whose identity is kept confidential for security reasons, has been identified by the authorities as a key piece within the investigation.\n\nLikewise, the file is supported by videos from surveillance cameras that captured both the moment of the assault and the subsequent events. The images were taken by agents of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) and the Cyber Police Area Directorate (DICAT).\n\nThe Prosecutor’s Office indicated that, after<\/a> obtaining the corresponding arrest warrants, it proceeded to execute them when the accused appeared before the Department of Crimes and Offenses against Property of the prosecuting body.\n\nProvisionally, the Public Ministry attributes to them the violation of articles 265, 266, 2, 379, 382, 383 and 386-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, which sanction the crimes of association of wrongdoers and attempted robbery with violence on public roads.\n\nThe case has generated public attention due to the way the robbery occurred in a highly transited area of downtown Santiago, as well as the immediate reaction of a citizen who prevented the alleged assailants from escaping at that moment.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
