Washington.-<\/strong> The Pentagon<\/strong> asked the United States Congress<\/strong> to codify the renaming of the Department of Defense to the “Department of War” and acknowledged that this new identity will cost about 52 million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\nIn a legislative proposal that the agency presented to the legislature, it indicated that this cost is an estimate and that the “final expenses” will be known once the name change process is finished.\n\n\n

In an expense breakdown, the document detailed that about $3.5 million will go to military departments<\/strong>; $3 million to the Office of the Secretary of War and the Washington Headquarters Services and $44.6 million to defense agencies and field activities of the War Department.<\/h2>\n\n\nIn the document, the department justified the official proposal of the name change<\/strong> as a “fundamental reminder of the importance and respect for our central mission: to fight and win wars”.\n\n\n
