Rio de Janeiro.- <\/strong>Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro is getting ready to host this Saturday, May 2nd, the megaconcert<\/a> of Colombian singer Shakira, one of the most anticipated musical events of the year, which promises to gather more than two million people on the mythical Brazilian sands.<\/p>\n\n\nThe artist will take the stage to offer what is expected to be the biggest performance of her career, showing the world the power, joy, and rhythm of Latin culture, as well as reinforcing her position as a reference for audiences of all ages.\n\nFor the show, with which she will close her world tour ‘Las mujeres ya no lloran’, the authorities of Rio de Janeiro expect about two million spectators, but the ideal is that it even surpasses Lady Gaga’s audience last year (2.1 million).\n\nAccording to a study by the mayor’s office, the event could generate an economic impact of nearly 776.2 million reais (about 158.4 million dollars) for the city, much more than that generated by the, also free, presentations on Copacabana beach, by Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga in 2025.\n\nIt is also expected that 84.6% of the audience will be residents of Rio de Janeiro and its metropolitan region, while the rest will be Brazilian and international tourists.\n\n\n

Closer to the Public<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nFor the mega-concert, the organization has set up the largest stage in the project’s history: 1,500 square meters of stage, with a 680-square-meter LED screen, a 25-meter catwalk that will bring the Colombian artist closer to the audience, and a height of 2.20 meters above the sand to improve visibility.\n\nIn addition, 16 sound and video towers will be installed along the beach, each with 45-square-meter LED screens.\n\nIn terms of security, the authorities will not hold back. The operation will deploy 7,927 police officers, with 18 checkpoints with metal detectors and facial recognition, 6 drones with the same technology, and 78 observation towers.\n\n\n
