Washington.- <\/strong>U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this Tuesday that his country’s policy “has not changed” when asked if the reward for the capture of Venezuela’s Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, remains in place.<\/p>\n\n\n“The United States policy on this issue has not changed and when it does, we will let you know,” responded the head of US diplomacy in Spanish at a press conference at the White House.\n\nDiosdado Cabello, a prominent figure in Chavismo, is accused by the U.S. Justice Department of drug trafficking, and the State Department offers on its website a reward of up to 25 million dollars for information leading to his arrest.\n\n\n

Following the capture of Nicol\u00e1s Maduro on January 3rd by US forces in Caracas, Cabello <\/a>has remained in the government of the interim president, Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, who was Maduro’s vice president.<\/p>\n\n\nSo far this year, the Donald Trump Administration has re-established diplomatic relations<\/a> with Venezuela and has recognized the legitimacy of the Delcy Rodr\u00edguez Government, with which it is working to open the Venezuelan oil sector to US investments.\n\n\n
