Miami.-<\/strong> A U.S. immigration judge ordered the release on Thursday of the parents of a young American<\/a> who asked to see them before he died due to suffering from cancer, the Mexican consulate in Chicago informed EFE.<\/p>\n\n\nKevin Gonz\u00e1lez’s last wish, a young man born 18 years ago in Chicago and with terminal cancer, is to hug his parents for the last time, who were detained under immigration custody in Arizona, United States.\n\nThe case mobilized authorities on both sides of the border, while Kevin -who is now in Mexico-, along with family and friends, launched an urgent call for humanitarian aid.\n\nThe judge ruled today on the expedited repatriation of Norma and Isidoro Gonz\u00e1lez, who had been detained since April 14 at the Florence Correctional Center, Arizona.\n\n“At this moment they are at the Nogales crossing, on the border with Mexico, and will soon be on their way to Durango,” the Mexican consul general in Chicago, Reyna Torres Mend\u00edvil, informed EFE.\n\n\n

The Sick Young Man’s Illness with Mexican Parents<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nHis illness is stage 4 colon cancer that has already spread to the stomach and lungs. His condition has deteriorated significantly and he is no longer receiving medical treatment, only basic care from his grandmother.\n\n“To physical pain is added the emotional anguish of the absence of their parents and the helplessness of not being with them,” Victoria had said to local media.\n\nKevin’s story began last Christmas, when he felt ill and was later diagnosed with advanced, terminal colon cancer.\n\nKnowing he would be living his last days, Kevin boarded a flight back to Mexico to say goodbye to his parents, but they were no longer in Durango, but in a detention center.\n\nAware of the bad news, Norma and Isidoro Gonz\u00e1lez attempted to illegally cross the border in a desperate attempt to see their son in the U.S., because due to prior history of a deportation in 2011, they did not obtain humanitarian or tourist visas to enter the country.\n\nAccording to his family, no request worked. Neither the medical documents from the University of Chicago Hospital, nor the terminal diagnosis, managed to convince the US authorities to grant them a humanitarian visa.\n\n\n
