Santo Domingo.-<\/strong>The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District imposed a year of preventive prison against nine people accused of being part of an alleged criminal structure dedicated to committing fraud against Banco BHD, causing losses exceeding RD$200 million.<\/p>\n\n\nThe coercive measure was ordered by Judge Rigoberto Sena, who also declared the case complex due to the magnitude of the investigation and the number of defendants involved.\n\nThose sent to prison are Luis Miguel Garc\u00eda Pe\u00f1a, Pedro Andr\u00e9s Garc\u00eda P\u00e9rez, Luis Guillermo Garc\u00eda Fa\u00f1a, Pedro Reynaldo Bello P\u00e9rez, Julio Antonio Garc\u00eda Fa\u00f1a, Francis Michael Laureano Marte, Juan Antonio Ure\u00f1a Geraldo, Kaury Miguel Lazala Brazob\u00e1n and Jefry Leonardo Cepeda N\u00fa\u00f1ez, who must serve the measure in the Las Parras Correction and Rehabilitation Center.\n\nWhile the defendant Elsa Sthefanya S\u00e1nchez Fern\u00e1ndez was sent to the Najayo Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center.\n\nThe investigation is led by the National Directorate of Financial Crime Investigation of the General Prosecution Directorate of the Public Ministry, headed by the Attorney General Lewina Tav\u00e1rez Gil. Prosecutor Rafael Reyes Cabreja and auditor Margaret Cabrera Morillo also participated in the hearing.\n\n\n
