SAN ANTONIO. \u2013 The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-82 this Sunday at the Frost Bank Center to tie the NBA Western Conference Finals at 2-2, driven by another dominant performance by Frenchman Victor Wembanyama.<\/p>\n
The stellar young player finished with 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three blocks in just 31 minutes, leading the Spurs in a game they dominated from start to finish. Wembanyama, who hours earlier was included for the first time in the season’s best quintet, shot for 50% effectiveness and made three three-pointers to the euphoria of the fans in San Antonio.<\/p>\n
“We just did what we had to do,” expressed the French center after the match, highlighting the adjustments made by the team after falling behind in the series.<\/p>\n
The Spurs’ defense was key in stopping the powerful Thunder offense, which scored only 82 points and had a poor performance from the three-point line, making only six of 33 attempts. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was limited to 19 points.<\/p>\n
Guard De’Aaron Fox also contributed to the victory with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while the Spurs managed to have a lead of up to 25 points in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
