{"id":508718,"date":"2026-05-27T16:13:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T20:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/rincon-foundation-presents-samana-circular-and-las-galeras-sustainable-commitment-to-a-greener-tourism\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T16:13:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T20:13:36","slug":"rincon-foundation-presents-samana-circular-and-las-galeras-sustainable-commitment-to-a-greener-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/rincon-foundation-presents-samana-circular-and-las-galeras-sustainable-commitment-to-a-greener-tourism\/","title":{"rendered":"Rinc\u00f3n Foundation presents \u201cSaman\u00e1 Circular and Las Galeras Sustainable\u201d; commitment to a greener tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"Entrepreneur and sustainability leader Felipe Beltr\u00e1n presented the talk of the Community Sustainability and Waste Management Program &#8220;Saman\u00e1 Circular and Las Galeras Sostenible&#8221;, an initiative aimed at protecting the province&#8217;s natural resources and strengthening a responsible tourism model in the region.\n\nThe activity took place at Hacienda Bah\u00eda Saman\u00e1 and brought together authorities, entrepreneurs, representatives of the tourism sector, community leaders, and social organizations committed to the sustainable development of the province.\n\nDuring the meeting, Beltr\u00e1n explained that the tourism and population growth of Saman\u00e1 and Las Galeras necessitates a new vision focused on environmental education, the circular economy, and the active participation of the communities.\n\nThe program seeks to implement a comprehensive waste management model that allows transforming waste into economic opportunities, reducing pollution, and consolidating Saman\u00e1 as a sustainable reference destination in the Caribbean.\n\nThe initiative includes environmental education and awareness days in schools and communities, training for hotels, restaurants and businesses, recycling and plastic reduction campaigns, as well as the installation of community green points for the separation of waste such as plastic, glass, cardboard and metals.\n\nLikewise, the project promotes the circular economy by transforming waste into reusable products, boosting green entrepreneurship, and generating sustainable jobs for local residents.\n\nIn tourism, the program includes environmental certifications for hotels and businesses, beach cleaning days, and ecosystem protection actions, with the aim of positioning Saman\u00e1 internationally as a destination committed to sustainability.\n\nAmong the personalities present were Nelson N\u00fa\u00f1ez, mayor of Saman\u00e1; Eugenio Vargas, president of Grupo Telenord; Catalina Olea Salazar; Yino Rom\u00e1n; and the director of the Educational District 14-04 Saman\u00e1, Adalberta Luc\u00eda Calca\u00f1o Maldonado.\n\nRepresentatives from the Dominican Environmental Consortium, Eco Bah\u00eda Foundation, La Churcha church, representatives of the Catholic church, journalists, members of Adompretur Saman\u00e1, Puerto Plata and Sos\u00faa, as well as leaders of tourism and community associations from the province, also participated.\n\nThe talk was organized by Fundaci\u00f3n Rincon in coordination with Adompretur Saman\u00e1.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About Felipe Beltr\u00e1n<br>Felipe Beltr\u00e1n is a businessman and lecturer specializing in environmental sustainability, circular economy, and sustainable tourism, with over 15 years of experience developing environmental projects for hotels, industries, and tourist communities in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. He is currently CEO and founder of Ecoservices Dominicana, a pioneering company in recycling, comprehensive waste management, and environmental education applied to the tourism sector.
