Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The National Police<\/strong> reported the dismantling of an alleged criminal gang dedicated to committing armed robberies in sectors of the National District<\/strong> and Santo Domingo East<\/strong>, achieving the arrest and submission to justice of two of its members, linked to a robbery in the Guachupita<\/strong> sector where a citizen was shot.<\/p>\n\n\nThe detainees were identified as Brady Mej\u00eda<\/strong>, alias “El Deportado<\/strong>“, and Robert Yeral Ure\u00f1a M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, known as “Robin G\u00e1nster<\/strong>“, pointed out by the authorities as direct participants in the assault committed against Saba Cristiano Rodr\u00edguez N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong> and other people on La Palma<\/strong> street corner La Fuente<\/strong>, near a pool hall in Guachupita<\/strong>.\n\nAlso, Andy Pe\u00f1a Batista<\/strong> and \u00c1ngel Chamell Germ\u00e1n<\/strong>, alias “Melada<\/strong>“, were arrested for investigation purposes, while investigations related to the case are ongoing.\n\nAccording to the Police, the investigations included the analysis of images captured by video surveillance cameras, which allowed to identify the vehicle used by those involved, a gray Honda CR-V jeep, license plate G401829, later located in the municipality of Tenares, Hermanas Mirabal province.\n\n\n

Meanwhile, \u00c1ngel Chamell Germ\u00e1n was arrested in Santo Domingo Este.\n\nAccording to the police report, Brady Mej\u00eda admitted during questioning to having participated in the assault, acting as the driver of the vehicle used by the gang. He also identified other members of the group. For his part, Robert Yeral Ure\u00f1a M\u00e9ndez is said to have acknowledged his participation in the event and to have received part of the money obtained from the stolen belongings.\n\nAuthorities are actively searching for three men identified as Jos\u00e9 Armando Pi\u00f1a Infante, alias \u201cEl Calvo\u201d and\/or \u201cEl Gatillero,\u201d as well as others known only by the nicknames \u201cDowba\u201d and \u201cPamblock,\u201d who remain fugitives and are considered armed and dangerous.\n\nAs part of the evidence seized during the investigation, the Police reported the seizure of a .38 caliber revolver and a bulletproof vest, elements that are part of the file sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.\n\nThe law enforcement institution reiterated its commitment to combat crime and urged fugitives to surrender through the means they deem appropriate to answer to justice.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
