Barcelona. \u2013 FC Barcelona has closed the incorporation of English international striker Anthony Gordon, from Newcastle United, in what represents the first signing of the Blaugrana team for next season.<\/p>\n
According to information confirmed to EFE by sources from the Catalan club, the operation was driven by sports director Anderson de Souza \u201cDeco\u201d, who accelerated negotiations this week during a trip to London to meet with the footballer’s representatives.<\/p>\n
Gordon, 25, joins the team led by Hansi Flick after standing out in the Premier League with Newcastle, a club with which he accumulated 39 goals in 152 official matches. The English attacker can play as a left winger, his usual position, as well as a center forward.<\/p>\n
The hiring of the British international is part of Barcelona’s sports renewal process, which seeks to strengthen its squad with players of speed, imbalance and offensive capacity to compete in all competitions of the next season.<\/p>\n
