Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lmd.gob.do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dominican Municipal League<\/a><\/strong> (LMD) and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/contraloria.gob.do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General Comptroller of the Republic<\/a><\/strong> evaluated the progress made in the implementation of transparency and internal control mechanisms in local governments, as part of a joint strategy aimed at strengthening municipal institutionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During a follow-up meeting, the president of the LMD, <strong>V\u00edctor D\u2019Aza<\/strong>, and the Comptroller General of the Republic, <strong>Geraldo Espinosa<\/strong>, reviewed the results of the implementation program for the Basic Internal Control Standards for Local Governments (Municipal NOBACI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the data presented, 75 of the country&#8217;s 159 municipalities have reached compliance levels equal to or greater than 70% in the application of these standards, which represents nearly 47% of municipal governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 estate fraud<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, the general implementation average went from 70.47% to 72.06% during the last year, reflecting progress in the control and administrative management processes of the councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V\u00edctor D\u2019Aza highlighted that transparency continues to be one of the main priorities of the Dominican Municipal League and assured that the institution maintains close coordination with the bodies responsible for overseeing the financial and budgetary management of local governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More than 220 transactional portals operate in local governments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the modernization efforts, the LMD also highlighted the joint work carried out with the General Directorate of Public Procurement to promote the use of digital platforms in purchasing and contracting processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-01-at-5.06.19-PM-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-667969\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, 221 local governments have transactional portals enabled, of which 128 correspond to city councils and 93 to municipal district boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the data provided, nearly 40% of these local governments carry out procurement processes recurrently through these technological tools, strengthening transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Municipal civil servants trained on new procurement law<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The institutions also reported on the implementation of a national training strategy for the application of Law 47-25 on Public Procurement and its Regulation 52-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date, representatives from 123 local governments, including 74 city councils and 49 municipal district boards, have participated in training sessions, with the attendance of approximately 226 public servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authorities indicated that these actions seek to strengthen the technical capabilities of municipal officials and ensure administrative processes based on principles of transparency, efficiency, free competition, and accountability in the management of public resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img
