Santo Domingo.<\/strong> \u2013 With the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, the Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED)<\/strong><\/a> announced a series of preventive measures to reduce risks and ensure the stability of the electric transmission service in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entity reported that it activated a special monitoring and response protocol to address potential emergencies caused by tropical storms, hurricanes, or other atmospheric phenomena that could affect the national energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the actions taken is the continuous monitoring of transmission lines from the Energy Control Center, as well as the availability of technical brigades distributed throughout different points of the national territory to address any eventuality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company explained that during the last few months it carried out maintenance work on substations and transmission lines, in addition to preventive pruning sessions in areas near the electrical networks with the aim of minimizing possible interruptions caused by falling trees or branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The executive vice president of ETED, Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez Tejada, pointed out that the institution remains prepared to act immediately in the event that weather conditions affect the transmission system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ETED took the opportunity to recommend that the population avoid construction and the planting of large trees in the vicinity of high-voltage lines, due to the risks they pose during extreme weather events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
