Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/em><\/strong> Judge F\u00e1tima Veloz, of the Permanent Attention Court of the National District, imposed this Tuesday a financial guarantee of RD$400,000,<\/strong> a travel ban, periodic check-ins, and attendance at behavioral workshops on Chinese businessman Po Xie<\/strong>, owner of the Mudan store, who is accused of alleged physical assault and gender-based violence against Tania Iris Valdez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested one year of pretrial detention for the defendant, the magistrate accepted less burdensome measures after considering the evidence presented during the hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing details on the process, defense attorney Johany Linares Rosario <\/em><\/strong>maintained that her client did not assault the complainant and alleged that the injuries presented occurred during a struggle over a cell phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
