Los Alcarrizos.<\/strong> The Dominican government will invest RD$280 million in the rehabilitation of the Los Alcarrizos Municipal Ecological Park, an intervention that seeks to recover one of the main natural and recreational spaces in that area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information was released by the Mayor’s Office of Los Alcarrizos, which explained that the funds were allocated by President Luis Abinader following the working session of the “Dialogue for Neighborhood Coexistence” program, led by the director of List\u00edn Diario, Miguel Franjul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restoration of the park responds to one of the main demands raised by community members during the meeting, who denounced the advanced deterioration of the facilities and demanded an urgent intervention to rescue this important ecological lung of the municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Junior Santos highlighted that the initiative will allow returning to the citizens a space suitable for recreation, family leisure, and environmental conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the dialogue, residents pointed out that the park presents serious problems of abandonment and lack of maintenance. They indicated that iconic structures, such as the old wooden bridge, are practically destroyed, while they also requested greater surveillance by the Ministry of Environment and the National Environmental Protection Service (SENPA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circumvention and offsets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the same setting, topics related to the construction of the Los Alcarrizos bypass were addressed, a project valued at more than RD$2 billion and designed to improve mobility in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community representatives raised the need to incorporate a vehicular bridge, a detour, and traffic light systems. However, the mayor explained that the project includes a pedestrian crossing to safely connect the San Miguel sector and assured that the infrastructure was designed to streamline traffic and reduce vehicular congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santos also reported that the process of acquiring land and housing has included the payment of approximately RD$760 million in compensation to previously registered owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo one has been evicted without previously receiving the corresponding compensation,\u201d stated the municipal executive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community center and degrees<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of the commitments made to the community, the Mayor’s Office announced that the Los Alcarrizos Community Center will be enabled within an estimated period of two months, a space intended to strengthen communication between authorities and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the mayor announced that work is underway on the construction of a modern multipurpose facility that is expected to be completed before September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding property regularization, he highlighted that the Government has delivered nearly 27,000 property titles to families in the municipality and announced that new delivery sessions will soon be held in sectors such as Los Progresos, La Fe, and Pueblo Nuevo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
