Santo Domingo Norte.<\/strong> Agents of the Regional Sub-directorate of Investigation<\/strong> (DICRIM) of the National Police<\/strong> apprehended in less than 24 hours one of the alleged individuals responsible for the death of a Haitian citizen that occurred in the Punta<\/strong> sector of Villa Mella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The detainee was identified as Ahesel Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, alias “Pira\u00f1a<\/strong>“, who, according to the authorities, admitted to having participated in the incident along with other individuals known only by the nicknames “Zaelo<\/strong>“, Enrique, and “Blanquito<\/strong>“, who remain at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim, identified as Escater Gedelien<\/strong>, 42, passed away while receiving medical attention after being wounded by gunfire during an alleged robbery attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred when Gedelien was traveling on a motorcycle along 31st Street in the Punta de Villa Mella sector. Under those circumstances, the assailants allegedly fired a shot with the intention of intercepting him and robbing him of his belongings, causing a wound that subsequently led to his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the investigations, the agents seized two motorcycles that were allegedly used by those involved to commit the crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Police reported that they are keeping search and location efforts active for the others involved in the case, while urging them to turn themselves in through the means they consider appropriate to answer to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
