Santo Domingo<\/strong>.\u2013 The Greater Santo Domingo Commonwealth<\/strong> (MGSD) will coordinate efforts for the implementation of the Provincial Development Council of Santo Domingo<\/strong>, an inter-institutional coordination space that will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing strategic works to be included in the General State Budget<\/strong> for the year 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision was adopted during a meeting aimed at strengthening the planning and territorial development of the province, with the purpose of ensuring that public investments respond to the needs and priorities of the different municipalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the agreements reached, a Monitoring and Coordination Committee was formed, composed of the Governorate of Santo Domingo, the Senate, the Dominican Municipal League, and the MGSD. Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Territorial Development and Planning of the Ministry of Finance will be in charge of the technical support for the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Council will work on the basis of the municipal development plans drawn up by the province’s town councils, with the purpose of establishing priorities that generate a positive impact on the territory and contribute to improving the population’s quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

William Est\u00e9vez highlighted that this initiative represents an opportunity to consolidate a shared vision of provincial development, through effective coordination between central government institutions and local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Danilo Rafael Santos maintained that joint planning will allow public resources to be directed toward projects of greater importance for the province, ensuring that investment decisions are based on technical criteria and the demands of each community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participating institutions agreed to hold an upcoming meeting in which the priorities identified by each municipality will be presented and evaluated, as a preliminary step to defining the provincial proposal that will be submitted for consideration in the next year’s budget process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
