Santo Domingo. \u2013 The Dominican Government included in its tax reform proposal a measure to eliminate the ISR advance payment for micro-enterprises<\/strong>, with the aim of reducing the tax burden on this segment and facilitating their growth and formalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eliminating the ISR advance payment for micro-enterprises would benefit 78% of companies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with the proposal presented by the Ministry of Finance and Economy<\/a>, the repeal of the advance payment would apply to micro-enterprises, which represent 78% of the companies that reported Income Tax (ISR) during 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative seeks for these businesses to stop making advance tax payments, improving their liquidity and allowing them to have greater resources available for their operations, investment, and expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For small businesses, the project also proposes a simplification of the current system. Instead of making twelve advance payments per year, they would only make three, under a scheme similar to that used by individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the proposal establishes that the agricultural sector will be exempt from both the ISR advance payment and the tax on assets, granting legal status to a practice that was already applied through administrative provisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The measures are part of the tax simplification block contained in the bill that the Executive Branch will submit to the National Congress. According to the Government, the objective is to facilitate compliance with tax obligations, encourage formalization, and offer relief to small taxpayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The package of initiatives also contemplates the expansion of the Simplified Tax Regime, an amnesty for certain tax debts, and the gradual elimination of several taxes considered obsolete, such as the one levied on mortgages and the one applied to the incorporation of companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If approved by Congress, the decision to eliminate the ISR advance payment for micro-enterprises<\/strong> would represent one of the most significant changes for small businesses within the economic reform proposal presented by the Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
