Washington.<\/strong>\u2013 A senior official in President Donald Trump<\/strong>‘s administration revealed details of the peace agreement that the United States<\/strong> hopes to sign soon with Iran, a pact that seeks to end the conflict that for months has raised tensions in the Middle East<\/strong> and affected global energy markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the understanding contemplates a 60-day extension of the current ceasefire to allow for technical negotiations on pending issues, especially those related to the Iranian nuclear program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main points of the agreement is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important maritime routes in the world for the transport of oil and gas. The plan provides for the gradual restoration of maritime traffic in approximately 30 days, in addition to the lifting of the US blockade on Iranian ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
