Madrid, Spain.-<\/strong> The Dominican writer and poet Osiris Madera<\/strong> was awarded the 2026 Escriduende Prize<\/strong> in the Best Latin American Novel<\/strong> category for his work Glenna and Maria meet<\/strong>, during a ceremony held within the framework of the Madrid Book Fair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recognition was presented by the ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Spain, Tony Raful, in a ceremony held at the Casa de Vacas Cultural Center, located in El Retiro Park, where one of the most important literary events in the Spanish capital is taking place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon receiving the award, Madera expressed his gratitude for the distinction and highlighted that his novel becomes the third work by a Dominican author to receive an international award of this nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The writer recalled that previously, Dominican authors Pedro Verg\u00e9s and Marcio Veloz Maggiolo were recognized with the Blasco Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Arguedas international awards, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he highlighted the contribution of Dominican literature to the Hispanic-American and international sphere, while thanking the Sial Pigmali\u00f3n Publishing Group for the support provided to various writers in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work Glenna and Mar\u00eda meet<\/em> was selected by an international jury chaired by the philologist Francisco Guti\u00e9rrez Carbajo and composed of renowned personalities from the literary and academic world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Escriduende Awards ceremony was part of the closing activities of the Madrid Book Fair, an event that brings together writers, publishers, and readers from different parts of the world every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this recognition, Osiris Madera adds an important achievement to his literary career and contributes to projecting Dominican literature on international stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
