Bajos de Haina<\/strong>.\u2013 The Minister of Tourism<\/strong>, David Collado<\/strong>, highlighted this Monday the investment made by the Government<\/strong> in the construction of the new recreational park in Bajos de Haina<\/strong>, a project executed with resources amounting to RD$135 million on land whose value exceeded RD$600 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event led by President Luis Abinader, the official explained that the land where the project was built belonged to the State and that the president’s intervention was necessary to ensure it was ceded for the development of the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe cost of these lands was around 600 million pesos. The president called the current Minister of Defense, who at that time was the head of the National Army, to donate the lands. It wasn’t very easy, but in the end, we convinced him<\/strong>\u201d, stated Collado.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The minister indicated that the park was developed with a government investment of RD$135 million and included the installation of more than 13,000 square meters of grass to condition the space intended for the enjoyment of the families of Haina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he highlighted the participation of the private sector in the execution of the project. He specified that the EGE Haina Group, chaired by Lidia Bonetti, made a contribution of over RD$100 million for the acquisition of trees and palms, while the Ministry of Environment contributed with reforestation actions and the symbolic planting of a tree together with the President of the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collado stated that the recovery of this space is part of a national strategy aimed at rescuing abandoned public areas and returning them to the citizenry through investments that impact the quality of life of the communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official maintained that this vision has also allowed for the development of projects for the recovery of beaches, boardwalks, and other iconic spaces in different parts of the country, contributing to the strengthening of Dominican tourism and the consolidation of the Dominican Republic as one of the safest destinations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn a place where there was darkness, today there is hope; today there is a vision for the future. We firmly believe in reclaiming public spaces abandoned for years to put them at the service of the people,\u201d stated the minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
