The official pointed out that every time one of these stamps circulates outside the country, it will convey a message about the Dominican nation and its capacity to host large-scale events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery time this postage stamp travels the world, it will tell a story and it will tell that the Dominican Republic is ready for these Games. But not only that, but our culture will be known, our origins will be known, our food and our flavors will also be known,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guzm\u00e1n N\u00fa\u00f1ez highlighted that the official mascot of Santo Domingo 2026, Col\u00ed, symbolizes the joy, colorfulness, and essence of the Dominican people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeeing the mascot dancing shows our quality, our origin, our culture and our nationality. That is precisely what the postage stamp does: represent who we are,\u201d he maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of INPOSDOM emphasized that transcendental events must be captured in the collective memory and that philately constitutes a tool to preserve that history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery event that transcends must remain intertwined in history. It must remain in the memory, it must remain in the heart, and that is captured with this postage stamp,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likewise, he compared postage stamps to an indelible mark of national identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPostage stamps are like a tattoo worn on the heart of a nation’s culture,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his speech, Guzm\u00e1n N\u00fa\u00f1ez also highlighted the transformation that the Dominican Postal Institute is undergoing, noting that the entity has expanded its services beyond the traditional sending of letters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe subject of letters has already moved to another realm. We still send a lot of correspondence, but the Dominican Postal Institute goes beyond that. We send feelings, we send dreams, we send hearts, we send packages, and we are part of e-commerce,\u201d he indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, he stated that the institution is undergoing a process of renewal aimed at strengthening national pride and connecting Dominicans with their history and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
