BOCA CHICA.\u2013 The New York Yankees continued their traditional HOPE Week activities this Tuesday in the Dominican Republic with a visit from the Amigos Contra el C\u00e1ncer Infantil Foundation (FACCI), an entity that received a $10,000 donation from the Major League organization to support its work on behalf of children diagnosed with cancer and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event took place at the Yankees Academy in Boca Chica, where representatives, volunteers, and beneficiaries of FACCI shared with players and staff of the organization in an environment of integration and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHOPE Week represents one of the most important initiatives for our organization because it allows us to connect with people and institutions that perform extraordinary work in their communities. It is an opportunity to recognize their work, learn from their stories, and thank them for the positive impact they generate every day,\u201d expressed Joel Lithgow, Director for Latin America for the New York Yankees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity was part of the HOPE Week 2025 agenda, an initiative that the Yankees carry out annually to highlight organizations that transform lives through community service and support for vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The week’s activities began last Monday with a visit from the Manny Mota Foundation, an institution dedicated to the training of young baseball players. During the day, the children received sports equipment and took a tour of the different areas of the academy, where they were able to learn firsthand about the operations of a Major League organization and spend time with players and team staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programming will continue this Wednesday with the visit of the Pasitos de Jes\u00fas Foundation, a home for girls that offers education, values-based training, and a safe environment for their comprehensive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday, the Mathews Mission foundation will be received, an organization that provides support to children with Down syndrome and their families, while on Friday the week will conclude with the visit of Casa de Luz, an institution dedicated to the care and accompaniment of children with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
