New York.<\/strong>– Just hours before the Democratic primary elections in New York, a poll based on projections from the prediction market Polymarket places Congressman Adriano Espaillat as the favorite to retain representation for the 13th District in the United States House of Representatives.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

According to data released by the New York Post, Espaillat, who is seeking a sixth consecutive term in Congress, has a 57% probability of victory, surpassing his main challenger, activist and democratic socialist Darializa \u00c1vila Chevalier, who registers a 45% chance of winning.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

\u00c1vila Chevalier’s candidacy has generated attention within the New York political scene due to the backing she receives from the city council member, Zohran Mamdani, one of the leading figures of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. His support is part of a strategy to expand the influence of the more liberal sectors within the political organization.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

District 13, represented by Espaillat since 2017, comprises a large part of northern Manhattan and sectors of the Bronx, a district with a significant Latino and Dominican population.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Polymarket projections also reflect interest in other congressional primaries that will be held this Tuesday.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

In District 7, which includes parts of Brooklyn and Queens, State Assemblymember Claire Valdez appears as the favorite with an 83% probability of victory, compared to 18% for Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. Both are competing to succeed outgoing Congresswoman Nydia Vel\u00e1zquez.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

For his part, former New York City Comptroller and former mayoral candidate, Brad Lander, is the clear favorite in District 10, which covers parts of Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. Prediction markets give him a 99% chance of defeating current congressman Dan Goldman.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Meanwhile, in Manhattan’s 12th District, Assemblymember Micah Lasher leads the projections with a 59% chance of becoming the successor to veteran Congressman Jerry Nadler, who will leave office after decades of service. Alex Bores appears with 43%, while Jack Schlossberg, grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, barely reaches a <\/a>1%.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Although several of these races have had few public polls, prediction markets have gained relevance as an indicator of the expectations of voters, analysts, and investors regarding potential outcomes.<\/p>n”\n\n“n
