Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- The president of the Juan Pablo Duarte Magisterial Current, Professor Menegildo de la Rosa, congratulated the country’s teachers and took advantage of the date to reiterate the main demands of the teaching profession, including the approval of the vacation bonus, a decent professional salary, and the payment of incentives corresponding to the 2025 Teacher Performance Evaluation.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

De la Rosa expressed that, although the date represents a moment of celebration and recognition of the work of educators, it also invites reflection on the challenges facing the sector ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 school year.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

The teachers’ union leader regretted that, once again, the National Congress concluded the legislative session without approving the vacation bonus that the ADP has been demanding for several years for the country’s teachers.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

He explained that this incentive would allow teachers to spend time with their families during the school break, purchase school supplies for their children, address health needs, and recover from the intense work performed during the school year.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Likewise, he insisted on the need to establish a truly professional salary, given the high cost of living and to guarantee decent living conditions for those who have the responsibility of educating future generations.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Regarding the Teacher Performance Evaluation, De la Rosa highlighted that the process for the majority of teachers has concluded satisfactorily, although he reminded that a second phase is still pending. In that sense, he requested the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, to arrange as soon as possible the application of the economic incentives derived from the evaluation, including the one-year retroactive payment now in the month of July.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

He stated that fulfilling that commitment would represent recognition of the effort made by thousands of teachers and would constitute additional motivation to begin the next school year with enthusiasm.<\/p>n”\n\n“n
