Santo Domingo<\/strong>. \u2013 The Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), V\u00edctor \u2013Ito- Bison\u00f3,<\/strong> conducted a supervision tour this Wednesday of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center<\/strong>, to verify the progress of the sports facilities to be delivered in the coming days for the celebration of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Currently, the finishing touches are being put on several of the facilities that will serve as the stage for thousands of athletes from the region to participate in these games, which consolidate the Dominican Republic<\/strong> as a benchmark for hosting international competitions.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

During the tour, Minister Ito Bison\u00f3 highlighted that the finishing works at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center are progressing at a good pace, in accordance with the schedule established for the completion of the works.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

\u201cWhen the works are being finished, they must be followed up on, and that is what we are doing here, supervising the final touches and confirming that we are moving at a very good pace,\u201d said Bison\u00f3.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Meanwhile, the president of the Organizing Committee for the Central American and Caribbean Games, Jos\u00e9 P. Monegro, said that the facilities are practically ready to receive the athletes and they are now in the finishing phase of the common areas.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

\u201cWork is being done here 24 hours a day so that the Dominican Republic is up to the task of these games and that the country feels proud of these games,\u201d he noted.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

So far, the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings has delivered twelve sports facilities at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and the Parque del Este.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

The MIVHED has already delivered the Karate Pavilion, the Practice Volleyball Pavilion, Softball Stadium A, Softball Stadium B, the Aquatic Center, the Fencing Pavilion, the Weightlifting Pavilion, the Archery Field, the Table Tennis Pavilion, the Chess Pavilion, the Gymnastics Pavilion, and today the Handball Pavilion at Parque del Este.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

While other facilities continue in their final phase, such as the Warm-up and Athletics Track at the Olympic Center, which is 97% complete; the Competition Volleyball area, with 95% execution; and Baseball Field 3, with 87% execution.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Works such as the Taekwondo Pavilion, at 85%, and the Skating Rink, which records 65% progress, also remain under development.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

The delivery of these facilities by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings expands the Dominican Republic’s capacity to host international competitions, leaving behind an infrastructure that will impact sports for decades to come.<\/p>n”\n\n\n
