Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>The Government of the Dominican Republic <\/strong>reported this Wednesday the shipment of a maritime cargo of humanitarian aid to Venezuela to assist the communities affected by the double earthquake of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 registered a week ago, which has left almost 2,000 dead.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

The vessel K Marine V set sail<\/strong> from the port of Rio Haina with tons of non-perishable food, hydration products, and medicines, “the result of an extensive coordination effort between State institutions, the private sector, the media, and civil society, managing to unite the solidarity of thousands of Dominicans and Venezuelan citizens residing in the country in favor of the victims of this tragedy,” highlighted a statement from the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

The donations were received at two collection centers set up under military medical supervision.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Similarly, the supplies collected during the ‘Hoy por Venezuela’ Radiotelethon, organized on Monday by the State Radio and Television Corporation (CERTV) and broadcast by various channels and stations in the country, are also part of this aid.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Following the devastation caused by the earthquakes, the Dominican Government activated the ‘Quisqueya Solidaria 2026’ mission, a group of disaster experts that arrived in Venezuelan territory one day after the double earthquake, while on Saturday it sent a shipment of medicines.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

In addition, on Monday it enabled a humanitarian flight on which 55 Dominicans, nine Venezuelans, and one American who resided in areas affected by the earthquakes arrived in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>n”\n\n“n
