Santo Domingo<\/strong> \u2013 Within the framework of the XLIII Plenary Meeting of the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL),<\/a> held in Mexico City, the prominent young Dominican diplomat and writer Juan Vargas Su\u00e1rez was unanimously elected as the new Secretary General of COPPPAL Youth.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Vargas Su\u00e1rez’s election took place on June 30th during the regional plenary sessions, while the official swearing-in ceremony for the new authorities was held on July 1st, consolidating a space of strategic leadership for the Dominican Republic in international politics.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Juan Vargas assumes this high distinction backed by a solid academic and professional profile in the areas of law, civil engineering, and history. In the political-institutional sphere, he currently serves as Secretary of International Affairs for the Modern Revolutionary Youth (JRM), a position from which he has actively promoted the agenda of Dominican youth abroad and bilateral relations with political organizations throughout the region.<\/p>n”\n\n“n

Upon assuming office, the new youth secretary general highlighted the weight of COPPPAL as the most important forum for political parties in the region, which brings together more than 70 progressive political organizations from some 30 countries on the continent.<\/p>n”\n\n“n
