Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- The executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla<\/strong>, stated that the Dominican Republic is prepared to take advantage of the new investment opportunities arising in the international arena, thanks to its economic stability, strategic location, and progress in trade facilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his participation on the second day of the Americas Investment Forum, Riveiro<\/strong> maintained that the Americas are going through a decisive moment to strengthen their global positioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe find ourselves at a critical moment for the Americas, a moment of global positioning and of promoting key policies for the new era of investment,\u201d he\/she expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official indicated that the global context has changed and that countries must respond to the new demands of investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe world has changed and we have to adapt to the new needs of the world. We cannot just settle for being countries with good strategic locations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riveiro explained that current investments seek resilience, talent, innovation, and trust, which is why he called for strengthening the integration of economies into global value chains and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by nearshoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he assured that the country’s goal is to attract investments that generate a positive and sustainable impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe do not only want investments; we want them to be sustainable investments that create value in our economies and are in line with State policies,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The executive director of ProDominicana highlighted that the country offers competitive advantages such as international connectivity, economic openness, stability, and human capital, in addition to logistics infrastructure that facilitates access to international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also highlighted the potential of sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, transport, mining, telecommunications, and free trade zones to continue driving the arrival of foreign capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riveiro recalled that the Dominican Republic has eight international airports, 18 cargo and cruise ports, and six trade agreements that provide access to more than 1.2 billion consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, he pointed out that the Government has strengthened the investment climate through legal reforms and tools such as the Single Investment Window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMore than ten reforms have been made to our legal regulations to facilitate trade and investment, in addition to creating programs such as Zero Bureaucracy, which allows the investor to carry out their procedures in a unified manner,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
