{"id":513021,"date":"2026-07-02T16:34:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T20:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/dominican-architecture-strengthens-its-international-projection-from-barcelona\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T16:34:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T20:34:23","slug":"dominican-architecture-strengthens-its-international-projection-from-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/dominican-architecture-strengthens-its-international-projection-from-barcelona\/","title":{"rendered":"Dominican architecture strengthens its international projection from Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Barcelona, Spain. \u2013<\/strong> The international mission \u201cThe Value of Being an Architect\u201d concluded successfully in Barcelona, following three days of academic exchange and reflection that promoted the thought and practice of Dominican architecture within the framework of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects, in which it participated as a Parallel Event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative, promoted by Ren\u00e9 Mateo, director of Architectum and creator of the project, together with Laura Rivas and Amalia Robles, from We Creart, brought together architects, academics, and institutions from the Dominican Republic, Spain, and other countries to foster international collaboration and highlight the social, cultural, and territorial impact of architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mission was supported by the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Barcelona, the Institute of Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), and various public and private universities and entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We recommend reading: <a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/nacionales\/mitur-cluster-verano2026\/\">Mitur and the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster launch \u201cTurizoneando Summer 2026\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the highlights were the photographic exhibition \u201cBuilt Tropic,\u201d by the collective Escritura del Espacio; the world premiere of the documentary \u201cTime and Form\u201d at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA); and the keynote lecture \u201cDesigning Life,\u201d by architect Gerardo P\u00e9rez, founder of Luxia Labs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agenda also included interventions by Omar Rancier, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at UNPHU, and Mizoocky Mota, Director of the School of Architecture and Urbanism at that university, who reflected on the role of architecture and education in building more humane societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this initiative, \u201cThe value of being an architect\u201d reaffirms its commitment to the international projection of Dominican architecture and the creation of spaces for dialogue, cooperation, and professional exchange.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona, Spain. \u2013 The international mission \u201cThe Value of Being an Architect\u201d concluded successfully in Barcelona, following three days of academic exchange and reflection that promoted the thought and practice of Dominican architecture within the framework of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects, in which it participated as a Parallel Event.
