New York.<\/strong> \u2013 The Dominican audiovisual producer, cultural manager, and entrepreneur V\u00edctor Dum\u00e9<\/strong> <\/a>was recognized in New York City for his outstanding professional career, his community leadership, and his contributions to the development of the Dominican Republic and the Dominican diaspora in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distinctions were awarded by Congressman Adriano Espaillat<\/strong> and State Assemblywoman Amanda S\u00e9ptimo<\/strong>, who highlighted Dum\u00e9’s work in the cultural, audiovisual, and community spheres. He also received special recognition from the president of the Dominican Taste Festival 2026, Elida Almonte<\/strong>, for his support of initiatives that promote Dominican gastronomy, tourism, culture, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recognitions highlight Dum\u00e9’s career as a cultural manager, producer, audiovisual entrepreneur, and director of photography, in addition to his role as founder of B\u00e1varo Media Group<\/strong> and B\u00e1varo Estudio<\/strong>, companies that have contributed to the strengthening of the national film industry and the promotion of the Dominican Republic as a setting for major international productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the distinctions value his community and humanitarian work, his leadership within the B\u00e1varo International Airport (AIB) Foundation, his status as honorary president of the Latin American Summit, and his permanent support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the ties between the Dominican Republic and its community abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the proclamation issued by the United States Congress, it is highlighted that the recognition is granted to V\u00edctor Dum\u00e9 “for his exemplary career and his incalculable contribution to Dominican pride in the world.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her part, Assemblywoman Amanda S\u00e9ptimo stated that Dum\u00e9 represents “an example of leadership and commitment to the community,” while highlighting that his trajectory demonstrates how culture, communication, and community service can contribute to the development of the Dominican Republic and strengthen ties with the diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon receiving the distinctions, Dum\u00e9 thanked the support of the U.S. authorities and expressed that these recognitions represent a greater commitment to his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I receive these distinctions with deep gratitude and humility. I share them with my family, my collaborators, and all the people who have been part of this journey,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the recognitions motivate him to continue working in favor of culture, cinema, tourism, entrepreneurship, and community development in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards ceremony was led by Elida Almonte and was attended by the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in New York, Jes\u00fas V\u00e1zquez<\/strong>; the former president of the Constitutional Court, Milton Ray Guevara<\/strong>; the governor of Saman\u00e1, Teodora Mullix Geraldino<\/strong>; the mayor of Santa B\u00e1rbara de Saman\u00e1, Nelson N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong>; deputy Cirilo Moronta<\/strong>, as well as businessman Maikol Peralta<\/strong>, among other personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
